When Beau disappeared, his owner contacted police in the early hours of the morning.
The 73-year-old woman, who was experiencing homelessness, had been sleeping in downtown Eugene, Oregon. According to police information reported by KLCC, video showed people leaving with her dog on September 23.
Beau, a two-year-old tricolor border collie, became the subject of a public appeal. On October 20, the local public radio station shared police descriptions and information about how residents could help.
Nine days later, KLCC reported the outcome: Beau had been reunited with his owner. The station also published a photograph, provided by Eugene Police, showing them together again.
The brief update did not describe the search in detail or include the woman’s own account. What it confirmed was simple and significant: the separation had ended, and Beau was back with his person.
