After devastating floods destroyed his family's farmland, a young farmer in Bosnia and Herzegovina is finally harvesting again.

When floods swept through central Bosnia and Herzegovina in October 2024, 27-year-old Mujo watched his family's livelihood disappear.

Their greenhouse was destroyed, farming equipment buried, and fields left unusable for an entire year.

But Mujo never abandoned the land.

With support from a European Union-funded recovery program, he received a small agricultural machine, fertilizer, and expert guidance to help restore production.

Today, he is growing vegetables again, sharing the harvest with his mother and younger brother.

His family is among 279 farmers supported through the program.

For Mujo, picking a ripe watermelon from his field is more than a harvest.

It's proof that a new beginning can grow from damaged ground.
