An army helicopter tried to reach the stranded tourists on Sunday, but bad weather prevented it from landing. The six Indian visitors had become trapped by heavy snowfall in Nepal’s remote Dolpa district, where mountain routes had become inaccessible.
On Monday morning, a helicopter completed the evacuation in two stages. Two women were brought to Dunai, the district headquarters, followed by the remaining four members of the group. Local officials confirmed that all six were safe and described their health conditions as normal.
For those waiting for news, the outcome was finally clear: everyone in the group had been accounted for and brought down from the snowbound area. The rescue was completed on November 2.
