Oonagh and Gloria were severely underweight when police rescued them with five other dogs in March. ASPCA teams treated their medical problems and carefully restored their nutrition. Within weeks, the sisters were healthy enough for adoption.
Robert and Rose Ann met Oonagh after losing their previous dog. When Robert picked her up, she licked his face. They took her home, where she soon settled in and greeted a neighbor on a walk.
Gloria found her family closer by. Her behavioral caseworker, Gabrielle, adopted her. At home, Gabrielle noticed her tension ease within hours—even her ears relaxed. Both puppies now have families, with the difficult beginning behind them.
